About EMI

Established in 1987, EMI has 35 years of experience in teaching. Our facility is located on Broad Avenue in Palisades Park, on the third floor above Paris Baguette Bakery. We have a large facility that contains 20 classrooms for Elementary, Middle, and High students. We have carefully crafted and chosen our curriculum and materials based on our experience over the past 35 years. We are always adapting and changing to adapt to changing standards but still maintain our foundations and goals.

EMI’s Special After School

1. Experienced staff members and excellent materials (Textbooks)

Our teachers all have extensive education backgrounds and most have experiences teaching in traditional schools. Our teachers take the time to prepare material and individual lessons for every class, as well as take the time to create supplementary material for their students when needed. We take into account the needs of our students as well as the standards required of them by their schools when developing curriculum. We use materials and textbooks used by local school systems and stay up to date on the ever changing standards and testing schedules. We have a 10 student to 1 teacher ratio and add in co-teachers when necessary. Our small class sizes allow teachers to get to know each student’s personality and habits, which in turn allows us to work with parents to help their student achieve at their highest levels.

2. Space over 5000 sq

EMI has enough space to accommodate all of our courses and grades, making it possible for each grade level to have their own single use classroom.

3. Specialized Classes

  • At EMI, it is very important to us to identify and encourage talented students. With this aim, once a student has been identified as being “gifted and talented”, together with their parents, we will guide them onto a track that will not only challenge them but help them excel.
  • For students who are struggling or having difficulties at school, we will work with their parents and their school to help identify the reason(s) behind their performance and help put them back on track.

4. Pickup & Care Service

We at EMI understand that finding responsible child care for your children is a top priority. We also understand, that for some parents, finding child care for school holidays, vacations, snow days, early dismissal days…etc. can become financially burdensome. To lessen this burden, EMI is open at 8:00 a.m. during school holidays and will pick up students during half days schedules as well.

We also understand that situations may periodically arise that make it difficult for parents to pick up their children from school. Sudden illnesses, emergency half days, snow days…etc, are sometimes unpredictable but unavoidable. If a parent finds that they cannot leave work or there is no one at home to pick up their children, arrangements can be made for us to pick them up for you.
